Been a few days since I’ve posted, thought I would share some of the progress on the workout/sun room.
The colour turned out a lot more green (we expected it to look much more gray). This could be due to looking at it under the light at night time.
I’ve only done the first coat as well, so It is possible that it may turn out a little different with the second coat.
Our intention was to closely match the gray in the brick to make the brick stand out more.
Here it what it looks like in daylight. You can tell it needs another coat as it looks quite streaky with first coat.
Let us know what you think.

Love the colour–Matches your fireplace beautifully! I use the same edger – works awesome doesn’t it? I brush the paint onto the edger so I don’t get paint on the wheels and get an even coat onto the pad. Can’t wait to see the finished room
It looks much better in person than in these pictures I find. I almost wanted to go a deeper grey…I guess we will see what it looks like with coat #2!
It looks like a mid tone grey to me. I can’t wait to see the results after the second coat. John uses the edger when he paints as well and gets such a clean line. Keep up the great work Eric!
I like the colour and I think it will look great if you pick up the colour in some new blinds.
Just wanted to say that I recently painted a room in my house and hated the color after the first coat but loved it after the second coat.It didn’t look anything like I had thought it would after the first coat but when I put the second coat on I was relived to see that it was exactly the color I had wanted.
I think we have this same color in our house! It looks great, and with a second coat, I think it will start to pull out the same gray in your brick. Great work!
Looks great! I noticed you are using a special tool for the edging. What is it?
What a classy and beautiful color – I love it! Looks so modern!
Love the color!
I think it matches well so far. You’ll probably get a better idea when coat 2 is on, though!
Beautiful. I love the putty color with the brick. Very natural feeling.
I love it, I’m a big fan of neutral colors. Good Job
I’m glad everyone likes it. I would have coat 2 up but I put the paint roller in the freezer instead of the fridge and it came out as a brick of ice… Opps. We’ll have to wait till tomorrow to do the second coat. The edger tool is called Paint pad Edger. I picked it up at home depot, although most paint stores carry these where we leave.
I could see the green in the picture when the paint was still wet but it looks more grey in the picture where the paint is dry. I think it will be a really nice colour. I have to say I really don’t mind the blinds. They match the brick and wood nice and with the grey on the walls I think it will break up the beige/brown look that the room had. The blinds look to be in great shape and would offer really good light controll for the room. I think with a Tudor style home you have to be a bit mindful of draperies. If you go to modern the house looks a bit off from the outside. I would stay with traditonal drapes(white sheers) like you have now but pop them up and make them more modern inside with some modern rods and panels. I think it is a win, win as the look is modern inside but keeps the style of the home outside.
